What’s been happening:

Currently, I am one of the election attorneys at the Pennsylvania Department of State working to ensure that what happened in FL in 2000 will never happen here. As a former lobbyist, I have worked on lobbying disclosure regulations, developed paper and online forms, instructions and a manual for accounting and reporting. My favorite memories of DSL-PSU were sharing different opinions with students from all over the world as well as those with different perspectives. One day at lunch in the Dickinson College cafeteria, we had a discussion of the Vietnam war with law students and foreign graduate law students from Vietnam, Taiwan (Formosa), China, Japan, a Vietnam vet and a conscientious objector during the Vietnam war. Such discussions also occurred when we traveled to Europe in the summer of 1988 to visit Austria, Hungary, and France, seeing many former DSL graduate students in their homes as well as enjoying beautiful evenings with the faculty and other students on the trip. I hope that these opportunities will continue to exist at DSL-PSU, and I encourage everyone who can to participate in the summer abroad program and to interact with the foreign graduate students while they are here. Doing so will broaden your perspective in this ever-shrinking world.
